New puppies bring the same handful of questions to every training class. Here are the short answers our trainers give most often.
Crate training
Feed meals in the crate with the door open, then build up to short closed-door stretches while you're in the room. The crate should predict good things, never punishment.
Puppy biting
Mouthing is normal. Redirect to an appropriate chew, and end play calmly when teeth find skin. Consistency across everyone in the household matters more than the technique.
Socialization
Socialization means good experiences, not just exposure. Controlled play with size-matched puppies — like our Saturday puppy socials — beats a chaotic dog park introduction.
Potty training
Take your puppy out on a schedule rather than waiting for signals, reward outside immediately, and supervise or confine indoors between breaks.
